Rockaway Beach Park refers to the central Rockaway section around Beach 86th–90th Streets — one of the busiest and most accessible Atlantic beaches in NYC.
This is full open-ocean exposure. The beach is wide, the surf is real, and the energy is high in summer. The A train drops visitors directly near the shoreline, making this one of the easiest ocean beaches to reach from Manhattan or Brooklyn.
Expect crowds on weekends. If you want quieter Rockaway access, consider walking east or west away from the main subway entrances.
